The International Mobility Program enables employers to hire a temporary worker without needing a Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA). As part of the process, employers will typically have to submit an offer of employment through IRCC’s Employer Portal.
- International Free Trade Agreements: These agreements contain clauses that make it easier for businesspeople to enter Canada temporarily on a reciprocal basis.
- Intra-Company Transfers: This category enables foreign companies to send skilled workers to Canada on a temporary basis to increase management efficiency and boost its competitiveness in international markets.
- Francophone Mobility: This work permit makes it simpler for Canadian employers to hire qualified individuals who are planning to live and work outside Quebec.
Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA)
This program is intended to be used when you’re facing short-term skills and labour shortages, and only when no Canadians and permanent residents are available.
- Global Talent Stream: The Global Talent Stream offers timely, responsive, and predictable client-focused service to help you access highly skilled global talent to expand your workforce here in Canada and to be competitive on a global scale. This stream is designed for innovative firms in Canada that are referred to Service Canada by a designated referral partner and that need unique and specialized foreign nationals to scale up and grow. It’s also intended for firms in Canada that need to fill an in-demand, highly skilled position on the Global Talent Occupations List.
Our team can assist you with the whole LMIA application process, including filling out the required forms, gathering the supporting documents, and creating a thorough Labour Market Benefits Plan (LMBP). - High Wage LMIA: To hire a temporary foreign worker (TFW), you may need a Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) to determine if hiring a TFW will have a positive or negative impact on the Canadian labour market. As an employer, you must comply with the program requirements. These requirements may vary depending on the position you’re requesting. Service Canada takes the program’s integrity very seriously and they have mechanisms in place to verify employer compliance. Employers who fail to comply with these requirements will be subject to consequences. To get an LMIA, you must submit an application form and all the necessary supporting documents. Your application will be assessed to validate the legitimacy of the business and the job offers and the impact hiring a TFW would have on the Canadian labour market.
