Specialization in Finance focuses on consolidating the student’s knowledge of the theoretical framework and analytical methods required for successful financial decision-making, under conditions of uncertainty prevailing in the complex, competitive and globalized business environment. Students with this specialization will develop the skills to undertake financial activities (in relation to capital markets, investment decisions and risk management) in a wide range of organizations, including banks, insurance companies, brokerage firms, portfolio management agencies, industrial firms, commercial firms and government agencies (such as the Central Bank and the Ministry of Finance). Students will also acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to continue their studies at the postgraduate level (Master, PhD), or earn professional certifications such as the CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst).
Our students, who have graduated with a degree in Finance, have been admitted to graduate programs at very prominent universities, for example, the University of London School of Economics, Manchester, Warwick, University College London and Southampton, as well as doctoral programs in the United States. Our graduates have also been awarded scholarships from the CFA society to pursue their professional qualifications.
Internship: Students who elect to intern during an academic semester based on the department’s approved internship programs, will have to register for the course AFN 313, (6 ECTS), during the internship semester. Students who continue their internship for a second semester should register for AFN 413, (6 ECTS). Each of these internship courses replaces either a depth or a breadth course. During the summer semesters, students participating in internships in approved organizations will have to register for the course AFN113 (3 ECTS), and if they continue to work for an additional summer semester, they should register for AFN213 (3 ECTS). The total maximum number of ECTS that can be replaced by internships is 12. In the summer period of the second year, students can enroll in two elective courses and in the summer period of the third year to enroll in two depth or breadth courses offered by the department (or in elective courses).

➢ Certificate of good knowledge of Greek language
➢ Certificate of citizenship
➢ Copy of identity card or passport
➢ All candidates must meet the grade requirements that are defined by the UCY Departments
VISA/ENTRY PERMIT
For all non- EU candidates, who will study at the University of Cyprus, a visa/ entry permit to the Republic of Cyprus is required. The visa / entry permit is issued by the Civil and Migration Department of the Republic of Cyprus.
