Biology (BA/BS)

Overview

Biology is the study of life, which can be studied through molecular, organismal, cellular and ecological perspectives. There is growing demand in the workforce for biology expertise; the job outlook is very promising.

Concordia University Chicago offers a Biology program in which you can earn either a Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree. As a member of the program, you will be encouraged to supplement your classroom learning through independent study in the Department of Natural Sciences.

Students who major in biology typically prepare themselves for careers in research, health care, environmental management, and education, both traditional and adult education at aquariums, museums and zoos. Specialty areas within the field of biology include biotechnology, forensic science, environmental policy and science writing.

We offer both Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science degree options. This allows you to choose the degree that best suits your needs. For those interested in studying biology in graduate school or pursuing a career in health sciences, a Bachelor of Science degree is recommended.
