Overview

The Bachelor’s Programme in Science and Engineering offers all this! It is a cross-disciplinary degree programme that provides you with a solid grounding in several core fields of engineering and the ability to follow rapid technological developments and apply scientific methods.

The Science and Engineering programme has two tracks: Computing and Electrical Engineering and Natural Sciences and Mathematics.

The two major subjects available in the Computing and Electrical Engineering track are Information Technology and Electrical Engineering. You can choose to focus your studies on:

  • Signal Processing and Machine Learning
  • Software Development
  • Power Engineering
  • Communications Engineering
  • Electronics and Embedded Systems

We offer our students high-quality teaching in relatively small, multicultural study groups where teamwork is strongly supported. In addition to providing a sound theoretical basis for further studies in the field of technology, the programme places special emphasis on internationality, employability and connections to industry. With this unique combination, our students are well-prepared for the international world of research and industry.

Graduates with a Bachelor of Science in Technology degree are eligible to continue their studies directly towards a master’s degree at Tampere University without having to re-apply. There are multiple options to choose from among the English-taught Masters of Science (Tech) programmes offered by Tampere University.

Requirements

You can apply for admission if you have completed or will complete one of the following qualifications in the spring 2025:

Or:

  • you hold a degree conferred by a Finnish higher education institution or a degree conferred by a foreign institution that is equivalent at least to a bachelor’s degree

If you are an applicant in the final semester of your upper secondary education, you are also eligible to apply. The previous degree must be completed before studies in the programme begin.

As set out in the Degree Regulations of Tampere University (chapter 4, section 11), a student may, at any one time, hold only one right to study towards a specific bachelor’s or master’s degree, or towards a specific scientific, artistic, or professional post-MSc degree at Tampere University. An applicant may not be granted a new right to study towards an equivalent degree for which they already hold the right to study or they have already completed, unless otherwise stipulated by the admission requirements of the faculty in question.
