OSSD (Ontario Secondary School Diploma)

Overview

Maple International College of Secondary Studies’s OSSD program is tailored for students aspiring to attain a high school diploma in Canada.

To graduate and achieve an Ontario Secondary School Diploma, students must fulfill three essential requirements:

1) Successful Completion of 30 Credits: This includes the fulfillment of 18 compulsory courses and 12 optional courses.

2) Passing the Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test: Students must pass the Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test (OSSLT) or complete the OLC4O course, which ensures they possess strong literacy skills.

3) 40 Hours of Community Service: To instill a sense of community involvement, students are required to complete 40 hours of community service.

Requirements

  • Credits from overseas high school can be recognized and transferred.
  • Complete grade 8 [or equivalent]; or current Grade 9to grade 12 students.
  • Not required: For international students enrolling to Grade 12, IELTS or TOEFL is preferred.
  • Minimum requirement: Pass all subjects in high school. CPA 70% since Grade 9, or B average, or 3.0 of 4.0 scale is preferred.
