The demand for Respiratory Therapists will continue to grow as Ontario – population increases and ages. This program will prepare you with knowledge, skills, and clinical judgement to deliver optimal cardio-respiratory care to diverse patients and clients in a range of practice settings including acute care and community environments. You will be part of the inter-professional healthcare team dedicated to cardio-respiratory health and well-being.
The highly interactive and practical program will train you to assess, plan, implement and evaluate safe, therapeutic cardio-respiratory interventions. You will discover how to establish therapeutic relationships and communicate in a culturally sensitive manner with patients and their families.
Your learning environment will include interdisciplinary lab spaces, our state-of-the-art simulation centre with high tech/high touch technologies and specialized equipment to prepare you for a rewarding career. In the last two semesters you will complete two field placements of 420 hours each to give you the experience you need to graduate job-ready.
This new program is undergoing accreditation with Accreditation Canada enabling the graduates to write the Health Professionals Testing Canada (HPTC) exam to become members the College of Respiratory Therapists of Ontario (CRTO).

Requirements
Students applying to Respiratory Therapy must meet the following requirements:
OSSD including Gr 12 (C) English, Gr 12 (C) Math, Gr 11 or 12 Physics , in addition 2 Gr 11 or Gr 12 (C) Sciences, one of which must be Biology. Minimum final grade of 65% in each required course.
This course is available only for domestic students.
